Amazing Facts - The Sun and Moon

The sun burns up 240 million tonnes of fuel every minute. One day it will use up all this fuel and go cold, but scientists don't think this will happen for another five billion years!

The temperature at the centre of the Sun is 15 million degrees Celsius. The surface temperature is much cooler - 5,500 degree Celcius. This is still five times hotter than lava flowing out of a volcano!

The Sun is about 150 million kilometres from the Earth. A jumbo jet would take 17 years to fly there!

We only ever see one side of the Moon because it spins round on its axis in the same amount of time that it takes to orbit the Earth.

Fun Recipe of the Month - Mars Chocolate Crunch
